In February 2012, I had the opportunity to go on an archaeological mission of the Center of Mediterranean Archeology of the University of Warsaw to Sudan. Our goal was to non-invasively document the Ghazali site near Karima. The mission consisted of the manager Artur Obłuski, Wiesław Małkowski (geodesy, geophysics, KAP) and Szymon Maślak (drawing) and me. There was a Christian monastery in Gazala until the 15th century. Very little is known about the site and only further work will bring more information. The state of preservation of the building is surprisingly good. I photographed both archaeological remains and their surroundings from the ground and from the air. In our spare time, we visited friendly excavations in Zuma and the pyramids in Gebel el Barkal and Nuri.
